Membership

You must be a USA student, faculty/staff, retiree, Alumni Association member, or university affiliate in order to join the USA Student Recreation Center. Spouses and dependents of the above primary members may also join. It is not open to the general public. The membership fees are below.

Currently enrolled students do not have to pay an additional fee in order to use the facility. It is already included in the activity fees.

Non-student memberships are a 12-month commitment, with the exception of students taking one semester off or a dependent summer/holiday pass. Members gain access by typing their Jag number or membership number at the front desk. USA employees and students may also swipe their active USA ID card/Jag Card. If you are a spouse, dependent or plus one member and would like an ID card, there will be a $5 charge for the card.

Membership forms may be turned in to the front desk of the Student Recreation Center or emailed to Shannon Rhodes.

Students taking one semester off who were enrolled the previous semester may purchase a semester membership at the front desk. The fee is $40/semester for Fall and Spring and $30/semester for Summer.

The membership fees for current faculty/staff will be payroll deducted. Retirees will need to call 460-6293 to set up a debit or credit card for monthly payments. To enroll, please complete the membership forms and email them to shannonrhodes@southalabama.edu or fax them to 461-1491. Once the forms have been received, your payment will be set up and your Jag number will be activated for access to the facility.

Any current USA employee who is not a member of the SRC is eligible to use the USA Student Recreation Center with our $5 one-day guest pass. Employees must present their F/S ID card and sign a release of liability form before entering.

Alumni who are members of the University of South Alabama Alumni Association are eligible for membership to the Student Recreation Center. If you would like to join the SRC, please complete the membership forms. Do not fax or email them to the Student Recreation Center. The forms must be returned in person in order to protect your account information, and you will need to show your Alumni Association membership card. Once your forms have been received, a Student Recreation Center membership will be created for you to gain access to the facility.

Recent USA graduates (up to 12 months post-graduation) can join the SRC for $10/month for one year. After one year's membership, the Alumni Association membership and regular SRC membership rates will be necessary for membership.

Plus One is only available to Faculty/Staff, Retirees, Alumni, & Affiliates

Primary members may purchase a membership for one other person living in their household who is not a spouse or dependent. Proof of residency must be provided. The monthly fee will be the same as the primary member's fee.

▼   Summer Dependent Pass

The Summer Dependent Pass is for children or college students who are home for the summer. Campus Recreation offers many fun ways to stay active over summer break. Depending on age, dependents have access to most areas such as the pool, rock wall, basketball courts, and fitness classes! 

The fee is $50/child. The Summer 2022 dependent pass is valid May 6-August 14, 2022. To purchase a Dependent Summer Pass, you must be a member of the Student Recreation Center and purchase through the Campus Recreation Portal.

Summer Pass holders age 16 and under must still stay within dependent hours. Dependent hours for May 6-August 14 are as follows:

  • Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays: Children age 16 and under may use the outdoor pool at 12:00-9:00pm and the rest of the SRC at 3:00pm-close.
  • Saturdays/Sundays: Children age 16 and under may use the outdoor pool and SRC during all open hours.
  • Mondays/Wednesdays: Children age 16 and under may not use any part of the SRC, including the outdoor pool.
▼   Holiday Break Dependent Pass

The Holiday Break Dependent Pass is for children or college students who are home for the winter holidays. The fee is $20/child. **Holiday passes will resume in December 2022.**

Holiday Break Pass holders age 16 and under must still stay within Dependent Hours. To purchase a Holiday Break Pass for your child(ren), you must be a member of the Student Recreation Center and purchase through the Campus Recreation Portal.

▼   Guest Pass & Policy
  • USA Student Recreation Center (SRC) guest passes may be purchased at the front desk for $10 per guest, per day. All guests age 18 and above must sign a release from liability form before entering.
  • Adult SRC members (age 18+) are allowed to sponsor a maximum of 2 guests per day.
  • Guest must enter and exit with their sponsoring member. All sponsoring members and their guest(s), age 16 and above, must provide a photo I.D. which will be kept safely at the front desk for the duration of their visit. Upon exiting the SRC, guest sponsors must accompany all guests to reclaim IDs.
  • Each pass is valid for one operational day. A member and their guest may return together, during the same business day, with their receipt and photo ID. Guests may not return without the original member sponsor.
  • Dependent members under the age of 18 are not eligible to purchase guest passes.
  • To ensure the safety of minors, any guest under the age of 18 must be accompanied and supervised by the sponsoring adult at all times.
  • Guests age 16 and under are allowed entry only during dependent hours.
  • Any current USA employee is eligible to sponsor themselves into the USA Student Recreation Center with our $5 one-day guest pass. Employees must present their F/S ID card and sign a release of liability form before entering.
  • Any violation of the guest policy may result in suspension of guest sponsorship privileges or guest access.
